Accessible Transport

Accessible Transport for Everyday Life

Getting from one place to another shouldn't be a barrier to staying connected and participating in everyday life.

Ardor Care provides accessible transport as part of our participant supports, helping people attend appointments, access their community, maintain important routines and take part in activities that matter to them.

Whether it's attending an appointment, going shopping, catching up with family or getting out into the community, our Support Workers can assist throughout the journey.

How Ardor Care Can Support

Transport can be incorporated into support based on each person's individual needs, goals and planned activities.

This may include support to attend:

  • Medical and allied health appointments
  • Community access and social activities
  • Shopping and everyday errands
  • Education, training and employment-related activities
  • Recreational activities and personal interests
  • Visits with family and friends
  • Events and community programs

Our Support Workers can assist before, during and after the journey, allowing transport to form part of the person's broader support rather than simply getting them from one location to another.

Wheelchair-Accessible Transport

Ardor Care has a purpose-equipped wheelchair-accessible vehicle with a wheelchair lift, providing transport options for participants who use manual and powered wheelchairs.

Participants can remain in their wheelchair during transport where appropriate, with wheelchair and occupant restraint systems used to support safe travel.

Having accessible transport available as part of our supports can make it easier for participants with mobility needs to attend appointments, access activities and participate in their community.

Support Beyond the Journey

Accessible transport can be combined with Community Access and other supports so that the Support Worker remains with the participant throughout the activity where required.

This could mean support getting ready to leave home, travelling to an appointment or activity, assistance while in the community and support returning home afterwards.

Our focus is on making the whole activity accessible, not simply providing the journey from A to B.
