Community Access

Supporting Participation in Everyday Life

Being part of the community means different things to different people.

It might be catching up with friends, going to a café, attending an appointment, taking part in a favourite activity or trying something new. For others, it may be about building confidence, developing everyday skills or becoming more involved in their local community.

At Ardor Care, we provide Community Access support based around each person's interests, choices and goals.

How Ardor Care Can Support

Our Support Workers can assist participants to get out, take part in activities and stay connected with the people and places that are important to them.

Support may include:

  • Social and recreational activities
  • Community events and programs
  • Cafés, shopping and local outings
  • Appointments and everyday activities
  • Developing hobbies and personal interests
  • Building confidence and everyday skills
  • Maintaining friendships and social connections
  • Exploring new places, activities and experiences

Support can be planned around established routines and interests or used to explore new opportunities, depending on what the participant would like to do.

Support Built Around the Individual

Community Access isn't about following a set program or expecting everyone to enjoy the same activities.

We take the time to understand what each participant enjoys, what they would like to achieve and how they prefer to be supported.

For some people, that may mean maintaining familiar routines and activities. For others, it may involve gradually building confidence, developing new skills or trying new experiences.

Our role is to provide reliable and respectful support while allowing the participant's own choices and interests to guide the activity.

Accessible Community Access

For participants with mobility needs, Ardor Care also has wheelchair-accessible transport suitable for manual and powered wheelchairs.

This can be incorporated into Community Access supports where required, helping participants access appointments, activities and community destinations with their Support Worker.
